It's hard to finger the sound because there really was a lot going on, and for the time (early 90's) breaking new ground with a sloppy yet succinct playing style that would be emulated for most of the next decade. Lyrically very political, themes ranging from corporate tyranny, America's stranglehold vision of foreign affairs, rape, inner city crime, and self-loathing amongst others, at any given moment it seems as if the band could implode on itself.
